New Planets Found

Scientists using the European Southern Observatory telescope found 32 new planets outside our solar system. This brought the total of planets outside our solar system to over 400. Most of these planets are bigger than Jupiter size. Astronomers feel these new findings support the theory that planet formation is common.

  1. I like your photo, it really adds a lot to the story. I also like it that you included the theory that this new finding supports. I think the statistics on how many planets are out there and how many new planets were found are interesting and attention-grabbing.

  3. That's so cool. It's crazy to think about how little we still know about space and all of the planets out there.

  4. I hope that planet formation is common, that would be cool. Then it would increase the chances of other planets developing that can support life. Did you hear that the black hole found in the Milky Way Galaxy is snacking on matter right now? However, there isn't enough matter around it to feed it completely so it posses no threat. There is a lot more to it, but that is the overall feel… Weird, huh?

  5. Very interesting! I was actually surprised that we have only discovered 400 planets with all the solar systems out there.

  6. I read this story earlier. I think it's great that we are constantly learning about our solar system! I'm glad you added a picture to your summary, it makes it more interesting.
